Kia keeps on astonishing the media and car enthusiasts by continuously surpassing their expectations. The most recent news from the fast-growing Kia once more raises the bar. In only 9 months, Kia outshined former annual sales records and there are still 2 months left in this year!
Kia Motors America (KMA) recently stated that as of September of 2011, they have set new sales records for 13 consecutive months. The 18.4-percent (35,609 units) increase over this time last year is largely attributed to sales of the American-built Kia Sorento, and the well-received Kia Optima.
Sales improved by 16.3 percent outside of the U.S., with 217,736 Kia units sold worldwide in September. Some of the greatest sales were in areas such as China (45.9-percent increase), Europe (20.6-percent increase) and even Kia's home country of Korea (4.4-percent increase).
In its 16thth straight year of growth, the Kia brand continues to evolve. Byung Mo Ahn, Group President, KMA, said in a statement, "Kia has become one of the fastest growing car companies in the U.S., and breaking our sales record in less than nine months is the result of our dramatic brand transformation and our diverse lineup."1.
